Britney Jean Spears made her entrance into the world on the 2nd of December 1981. She was born in Mississippi but raised in Kentwood, Louisiana by parents, Lynne and Jamie Spears. She had an older brother, Bryan and a younger sister Jamie Lynn, now 17 and a successful actress.
Britney released her debut single 'Baby One More Time' with Jive records in 1998 and immediately became an international star. Her debut album is still the biggest-selling album by a teenager so far. By the millennium, Britney was a pop icon. She continued her rise to fame by releasing three more number one albums.
She released her debut movie, 'Crossroads' in 2002 before making appearances in 'Goldmember' and 'Longshot'. At this stage, her private life was gaining more and more media attention, because she was in a long term relationship with ex-NSYNC member Justin Timberlake. After a messy split with Justin, Britney met Kevin and they married in 2004. She announced a well-deserved career break and released her greatest hits album.
Britney had her first baby in 2005, a boy called Sean Preston Federline, during May 2006, she announced she was expecting her second child with Kevin, another boy born in September, called Jayden James Federline.
2007 saw Britney return to music, she did a small tour under a false name and then released her fifth album in October of that year. Her come-back single, 'Gimmie More' reached number three, another extremely successful single to add to her portfolio. Reports suggest that Britney is now recording a sixth album. She also took up acting again in 2008, in a role in 'How I met your mother', the show gained its highest ever ratings and her performance was well received.
